SDMBA hires Trail Designer for Orosco Ridge Trails Plan

San Diego Mountain Biking Association is excited to announce we have selected Drew Perkins Trail Consulting to design the Orosco Ridge Trails Plan. Located on the southwestern side of Pamo Valley within the Palomar Ranger District of the Cleveland National Forest just north of Ramona. This plan will include 20 Miles of purpose built singletrack with five directional intermediate and advanced trails!

Drew is best known for his work with the Mountain Bikers of Santa Cruz at the Soquel Demonstration Forest. He led the planning, design and construction of these world renowned flow trails. His portfolio also includes work and design of the Pismo Beach Preserve and the Emma McCrary Trail in Santa Cruz.

How can you help?
The San Diego Mountain Biking Association needs to raise $15,000 by March 15, 2018 to keep the progress on this project rolling smoothly.    These funds will go towards design and further fine tuning of our proposal to the Forest Service.  A generous donor has offered to match donations up to $15,000.  All donations 100% tax deductible.

That means every dollar you donate here will be doubled and will go directly to the Orosco Ridge Trails Plan:

US Forest Service staff specialists have already started the NEPA process (environmental review) for this project.  Although studies will be ongoing, and SDMBA hopes to have approval to move forward with construction of these trails by late 2018.  More information on the Pamo Valley Trails Plan HERE

We are thrilled with the progress of this project and especially from the support we have gotten from the US Forest Service and the community.  We can't do this unless we all pull together!
