Vista Santa Fe Trail - Pacific Highlands Ranch

The official name of this trail is the Vista Santa Fe Trail and is within the Pacific Highlands Ranch Community. It was entirely built by SDMBA and completed 2020 for Pardee Homes (now known as Tri Pointe Homes). The alignment for this trail was in the community plan. Similar to the Appendix Trail on Del Mar Mesa, this trail is a true singletrack with a very natural feel. It very easily could have been built by the developer as a wide decomposed granite pathway which are ubiquitous in the area. Because of the relationship with the developer built over years, SDMBA was able to provide a much more natural trail experience.
After the construction was complete the trail was turned over to the City of San Diego and is managed as part of Gonzalez Canyon.
This trail can be connected with some road connections to miles of trails within Gonzalez Canyon, Coast to Crest Trail (San Dieguito River Park), Penasquitos Canyon and Black Mountain Open Space Park.
