Meeting called to order:  6:05 p.m.

  1. Guest Speaker: Margaret Diss, County of San Diego Trails Program Coordinator - Margaret discussed the high-level projects that her office is working on. These included:

  1. CTMP (County Trails Master Plan) - Purpose of the plan is to guide trail development and management in unincorporated parts of San Diego County.

  2. CTMP Regional Trails - Trails that traverse the county and cross multiple agencies lands

  3. PAP (Public Access Plans)

    1. Boulder Oaks - Located east of Poway, COSD acquired 2,016 acres. 5.7 miles of additional trails (total miles 13.9) will be built in a phased approach. Currently working on CEQA, possibly 2 - 3 years out from build.

    2. Sycamore Goodan Ranch - Meeting to discuss options and input (3 top priorities) on development of trails being held on Wednesday, January 24th, 2018 @ 5:30pm. Lakeside Community Center: 9841 Vine St. County states goal is to create a "best in nation mtn biking facility".

  1. Preserve Trail Guidelines - Minimize environmental impact, ensure maintainability, Maintain high-quality user experience

 

  1. Boulder Oaks and Sycamore Goodan Ranch Trails Update -

  1. Boulder Oaks - New land east of Poway/West of Ramona acquired by County. Currently working on CEQA. Once finished, trail work to be put out for bids.

  2. Sycamore/Goodan Ranch- Public Meeting to discuss trails and options. Please attend and have a say: Wednesday, January 24th, 2018 @ 5:30pm. Lakeside Community Center: 9841 Vine St.

 

  1. Pamo Valley/Orosco Ridge Update - SDMBA hired Drew Perkins to design trails starting on Feb 2, 2018. Currently in NEPA process with decision due in Oct 2018.

  2. Black Mountain Update - Final review and decision for proposed Black Widow Trail (DH) due on Jan 16th, 2018. Miners loop trail is still closed due to high arsenic levels. Discussions ongoing with City on next steps.

  3. Sweetwater Bike Skills Park Update - Public Meeting to discuss options. Tuesday, Jan 23rd, 2018 @ 6pm. Sweetwater Summit Campground. Come prepared to tell them what you want. There will be second meeting in February.  

  4. Recent Meetings with CDFW & WHCC - Calaveras:More meetings being arrange with CDFW, environmental groups and SDMBA. They are still enforcing the no mtn bike rule.

  5. SDMBA Survey Preliminary Results - Ben reviewed the preliminary results of survey sent out to members/donors. A separate public Survey will be posted to Facebook for additional feedback from the public this week. Results will be tallied and reported on at a future meeting.
