  1. SDMBA Trail updates (Ben) 
    Daley Ranch - IMBA trail solutions started work in August on trail assessment. Bobcat trail and Crest had significant work in 2020 and will get more in 2021. 

    1. Mother Miguel/Rockhouse working with USFWS to plan more trailwork.

    2. La Costa work planned for this winter on Whiptail and Switchbacks.

Planning touch-up work on Whiptail and Switchbacks for this winter.

  1. Sycamore Canyon- Trails plan will have final circulation this year.

  2. Mt Laguna Trails Restoration Project update -work continues

  3. Balboa Park work planned for this winter - the City is not allowing anyone on the property to do work at this time. We’re trying to get a permit -

  4. Construction of a new section of the Coast to Crest trail this winter planned. 

We are helping San Dieguito River Park with construction of part of the Coast to Crest Trail.

  1. Advocacy Updates (Susie)

    1. Rancho Lilac management (~1,000 acres) was slated for development but didn’t happen. Arguments going on re: who will manage this property. Sandag decides who will manage it.

    2. Boden Canyon/Coast to Crest connection -State Fish & Wildlife has not approved public access to this connector. We are continuing to work on gaining approval.

    3. Fanita Ranch -

    4. USFS Ebike comment letter submitted 10/26. Forest Service v. Dept of Interior; Difference in how each viewed ebikes: non-motorized vs. motorized vehicle. Links to our position on the issue and where ebikes are allowed are on our website.

    5. Rose Canyon crossing - Connection from Clairemont to Pacific Beach wasn’t part of the plan for the East/West crossing. We will approach CalTrans soon to discuss.

  2. Bike Park updates (Susie)

    1. Pacific Highlands Ranch closure update - getting a higher fence

    2. Sweetwater Bike Park - Planned maintenance closure update

    3. Otay Valley Regional Park Bike Park (County) -

      1.  breaking ground this summer to be open by end of 2020/went out for bid. Unlikely it will be open by year end ‘20.

    4. City of Carlsbad - Veteran’s Memorial Park -draft plan submitted. 

Same size as Sweetwater; dual slalom course/pump track and many other features. 

  1. City of San Marcos - Bradley Park- will have jump lines, some flow trail. 

  2. City of Escondido - please fill out survey if you want a bike park - link on our website to City of Escondido.

  3. City of Alpine (County Project)  Prelim design in a couple of months - county purchased approx. 100 acres/badly needed here.

  4. City of La Mesa  2 proposed plans for small pump track element, public survey in July
