  1. 2021 preliminary budget DRAFT (Ben and Susie)

 

  1. Winter Trainee Program 

18 week $4,500 ($250 a week living allowance) or $11,592 (at minimum wage with 15% overhead)

Board suggests to hold off until November meeting since the Truck purchase is still unknown.

  1. Virtual Volunteer appreciation - Over $10,000 in prizes

    1. 11/1 email out to all volunteers with hours w/ virtual goody bag

    2. 11/5 email out to all volunteers with 12 + hours with details for prizes

    3. 11/12 6 p.m.  12+ hour volunteers log in and pick prizes

    4. 11/17 & 11/19 (locations TBD)  Prize Pick up

 

  1. Development updates: 

    1. Make a Click - Take Your Pick Campaign runs through 11/6.  

      1. $17,980.00  10/21/20  Big push with Canyon this weekend

      2. FB Live giveaway at Canyon 11/6 7 p.m.(in Carlsbad)

    2. $5000 pledged by Trek Superstores. Check in the mail. General fund

    3. $9000 received from County Small Business Stimulus Grant

    4. $500 received from both Sierra Nevada and SunBum for volunteer and trail crew shirts

    5. 12/12 potential virtual Comedy night event with WineNest/Rancho Guejito Vineyard/local brewery  Susie is talking with Rouleur 

    6. Zoic Clothing

  1. Truck Purchase :     

Mechanic doesn’t recommend diesel for our organization due to uncertainty with CA laws. Options: donation(hasn’t happened); purchase; lease or rent - Sean & Josh gathering info. Josh - has a connection he’s working with for leads  Lease discussion: We don’t have credit, i.e. someone may have to place a personal guarantee; 

Motion: to give the Exec Comm authorization to lease a truck not to exceed 19k over 3 years, exclusive of insurance.  Motion: Josh Second: Sean Motion passes

 

Further discussion - do we need 4 wheel drive? 

Opinion Poll taken:  do we get 2 wheel v. 4 wheel? 4 wheel preferred by majority of board

 

  1. USFS Ebike comment letter DRAFT  due 10/26

 

  1. Bike Park Updates

    1. Sweetwater - maintenance closure -2nd most popular amenity in the county! (first is Waterfront Park)

    2. Otay Valley - out to bid. Should break ground before end of year

    3. Escondido updates and survey: moving forward (300k grant) with pump track. Survey open(ed) up today re: winery v. bike park

    4. San Marcos - in planning

    5. Alpine - part of new county park

    6. Carlsbad Veterans’ Memorial Park - in planning
