Discussion Agenda  

 

  1.      Make a Click - Take Your Pick Campaign runs through 11/6.  

    1. $2858  9/26 

We all need to let our individual networks know of this opportunity!

 

  1.            Truck Purchase: Approval up to 25K for purchase (plus tax, title and   license) Discussion: Should we advertise (Trail News) for a donation? How much truck do we get for 25k? 

Kevin: Don’t move forward (yet) on decision...delay until we put out feelers for donation. Matt - do our due diligence -

Motion: Kevin -  to authorize a truck purchase for up to 25k, while simultaneously asking membership for a donation.

Action requested: Susie will put this out there on social media; Kyle will write the “narrative”.

 

Should stickers/decals be on side of vehicle? Magnetic signs are an option - tabled discussion until we own a truck.

 

  1.            Trainee Program consensus - (Ben) 1 to 3 needed. 

Cost will be similar to what we paid last year’s intern:  $4,500 plus mileage =       $5,500. Ben will develop a budget for the program.

This can’t be a guaranteed position. Al - last year we paid Ace ~$8,500.

Ben will begin development of the program. Budget committee meeting needs to happen in October.

 

  1.  COVID Volunteer Procedures  DRAFT- 

Susie is working with Matt Sanford at the County. 

  1.  Draft questions for mayoral candidate sessions next week - two sessions next week. Tim offered to help Susie with this. 

  2. Register on FB events on SDMBA FB

  1.            Recent access advocacy issues

    1. Lilac Hills update (SDMBA letter submitted at request of VCTA)

 

  1. Boden Canyon (CDFW/ comments due 9/30) 

Susie has had a lot of discussion with San Dieguito, Shawna Anderson, Trish Boaz at the Conservancy and others. 

Don reached out to Jason Price (manages the 56) and received a response.

  1. Trail etiquette education efforts 

    1. Bell Boxes (BM, PQ, EFRR, SDRP) reestablish MTRP

    2. Video with REMBA ($500 spent on this)

    3. Trail signage at Elfin Forest

    4. Recreate Responsibly materials - Susie receives large quantity of comments, questions, etc. 

Jeff Swenerton - Susie has been in contact for help with trail, signage, etc. 

  1. Bike Park Updates

    1. Otay Valley out to bid; ground to break in Oct. 

    2. Alpine Bike Park virtual public meeting 9/23 7:15 p.m. - see FB event feed

    3. Spring Valley All Wheel Park (Calavo Park) - Susie was on the call last week. They were appreciative.

    4. Escondido Ben - City Council is divided on the decision between bike park or a winery. 

  2. Budget Increase 6270 (Trail work equipment and supplies) from $10,000 to $17,684.41 (grant and insurance settlement)  

Al asked for an estimate on spending for remainder of year.

Ben will come to October board meeting with estimate.
