Mount Laguna Recreation Area
San Diego's premiere trails area with pine forests, meadows, and seasonal alpine lakes with trails for riders of all skill levels. Travel around the Big Laguna Meadow trails with beautiful views or try the advanced downhill at Noble Canyon.
The Laguna Mountain Recreation Area has several trail systems/loops that can be ridden separately, or you can link them up for a more significant day in the pine forest. Big Laguna Trail (BLT) stays in and around the main meadows area, while Red Tail Roost, Chico Ravine & Los Gatos are some side trails that can be looped into the BLT network.
Many riders also connect a Laguna meadow ride with Noble Canyon, which is a popular shuttle route from Pine Valley. With the exception of Noble Canyon, the riding is generally more cross-country. Nothing like riding mile-high under a bluebird sky. You will be treated to scenic singletrack trails that meander in and out of conifer forest, mixed with some oak, and pit stops by the lake & The Water Of The Woods.
You can park along the Sunrise Highway at several spots - Sunset Staging Area, Red Tailed Roost and Penny Pines are popular places to park. Certain staging and parking areas require an Adventure Pass.
People who have the annual national parks pass (America the Beautiful pass) can use that in lieu of an Adventure Pass.
